Services & What to Expect

Physiotherapy assessment & management for

What to expect from your consultation

Taking the first step can feel daunting, so here's exactly how an appointment with Christie unfolds. Every visit is private, unhurried and centred entirely on you.

1

A relaxed conversation

We begin by talking through your history, symptoms, lifestyle and goals in a calm, confidential space — no rush and no judgement.

2

A gentle, thorough assessment

This may look at your posture, breathing, movement, core and muscle tone. Where it's helpful — and only ever with your consent — an internal pelvic floor assessment may be offered, or an abdominal (real-time) ultrasound assessment if you'd prefer. You can decline or defer any part at any time.

3

Understanding your body

Christie explains what's happening and why, in clear, jargon-free language. Understanding the “why” behind your symptoms is often a relief in itself.

4

Your personalised plan

You'll leave with a tailored plan — which may include exercises, breathing and relaxation techniques, manual therapy, education, trialling and fitting pessaries, and trialling TENS or biofeedback — plus clear, realistic next steps.

Wear something comfortable

Loose, comfortable clothing you can move in is ideal. Having a small amount of fluid in your bladder is helpful for the ultrasound assessment, and it's worth jotting down any questions or concerns beforehand. Above all, you're always in control: nothing happens without your consent, and you're warmly welcome to bring a support person.
